In joining the ELR Preservation Society you're helping to support the development of the East Lancashire Railway. Each year, the Society makes a substantial donation to the railway to fund specific projects. In 2014, the Society donated £38,500 to fund the refurbishment of "Gothenberg" and to bring it back into service as "Thomas" with a new 10-year boiler-certificate.
